Thanks for the lovely comments everyone. We did find our dilapidated chateau - in the Dordogne - hidden away & abandoned like Sleeping Beauty's castle. Over three years we transformed Chateau Monteil into a glorious Bed & Breakfast with deer like Cameroon sheep grazing the land. I live in a sweet little cottage in the grounds with Son Number One & hubby when he's here. Son Number Three visits when he's not working and Son Number Two runs the business with his beautiful fiancée who's expecting a baby in the Spring - so I'm going to be a Granny! If you can motor down to Sarlat Joyce we'd love to see you all in the Summer - look us up - our website is www.chateaumonteil.com.

Lovely to read that you made it work, brilliant. about 10 years ago when you were starting out I wrote about my son David who is autistic he's now 26 years old still at home with my husband and his younger sister we never got to visit your home in the Landes unfortunately but never say never.
David wold love it but we would have to drive then take a ferry as he will not fly again we tried three times but David was anxious and as he's so big now we can't take a chance on him behaving on the plane.I would love some information on your holiday (gites) for 4 people for one week during the summer next year
Regards Joyce Turner
