2012 Touring and Events Schedule

While you can contact Gary Lee Kraut directly for tailor-made advice and travel and touring opportunities, here are some of the unique small-group trips led by Gary and/or specialist guides and experts that are currently planned for the coming month.

Similar trips, tours and excursions can be privatized for individuals, pre-formed groups, travel agents and trip planners.

May 14. Jewish Paris. A full day exploring history and contemporary Jewish life in France through sights, neighborhoods and people in Paris. (There’s far more to Jewish Paris than the Marais.) Limited to 6 participants.

May 16. The Paris Market-Wine-Dine Tour. Exploring the history of restaurants, food markets, and wine bars through a fun-filled, well-poured, well-fed afternoon and evening. This tour is repeated periodically throughout the year. Limited to 6 participants except by special request.

May 22. Black History, African-French and African-Americans in Paris. Historical and contemporary discoveries, culinary adventures, and special encounters. Limited to 6 participants.

May 27-June 10. The Roland Garros Sporting Tour. Select dates for sporting travelers includes walking, biking possibly even jogging tours in Paris plus tickets to the French Open as long their available. Number limited to available tickets.

June-October, Normandy Revisited. Encounters in and around the D-Day Landing Zone. This 2-day/1-night excursion from Paris is the perfect amount of time for an overview of the D-Day Landing Zone. Includes several tastes of Norman cuisine, a visit to a calvados (apple brandy) producer, and a view of the Flowered Coast. Limited to 4-7 participants. Includes a stop at Monet’s House and Gardens at Giverny. Limited to 4-6 participants. Dates not yet set. Inquire if interested.

June 4: Eastern Paris, a Life and Death Discovery. A full-day exploration of Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Belleville, Canal Saint Martin and other surprises for the off-beat traveler.

June 11-14. Biking in the Loire Valley. 3+1/2 days of chateaux, vineyards, history, cuisine and local life in the Loire Valley. Limited to 6 participants.

June 20. Private chateaux in the Paris region. A luxury excursion especially designed for travelers who have been to Paris before and for English-speaking residents.

July 2-7. The Wild Women Tour: Paris and excursions. A joyful week of discovery, adventure and good laughs especially designed for active single women ages 40-60. Limited to 8 participants, possible to privatize on this or another week for a group of 4+ friends.

July 9-10 (dates may change). Black History, African-French and African-Americans in Paris. Two full days of exploring African and African-American heritage in Paris, including culinary adventures and special encounters. Limited to 8 participants.

Early September. Biking in the Loire Valley. See June 11-14 biking trip. Details to come.

Late September. Biking in Provence. Four days of the pleasures of Provence. Details to come.

Early October. Southwestern adventures. Five days of exclusive explorations from Bordeaux to Toulouse.
