Armistice Day, November 11

The French aren’t big flag wavers, but the blue white and red comes out proudly on Armistice Day (November 11), V-E Day (May 8) and the national holiday of July 14.

Here’s a bevy of flags by the side entrance of Gare du Nord, Paris’s North Station, decorating a momument honoring French railway workers who died in WWI and WWII.
